ASUS ZenFone AR, which launched in India in July 2017, is the world’s first smartphone with 8GB RAM and the first device that supports both Google’s Tango AR and DayDream VR platforms. This phone was developed in close cooperation with Google so that it is able to deliver the best user experience for both AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality). In terms of hardware, it has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and more. The smartphone runs on Zen UI 3.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

2. OnePlus 5

OnePlus 5, one of the several 8GB RAM smartphones, was announced globally in June 2017. The OnePlus 5 boasts of 8GB RAM under the hood besides packing dual rear cameras. It is an absolute beast for multitasking as it offers LPDDR4x RAM. Other specifications include 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz. The phone runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. It has 128GB of internal storage but you cannot expand it since there is no microSD card slot. Also, we get a lower variant consisting of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.

3. ZTE nubia Z17

ZTE nubia Z17 from the house of ZTE was announced in China back in June 2017. It is the first 8GB RAM smartphone from the company that is powered by the Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor. The nubia Z17 is a multitasking beast and is capable of handling everything very smoothly. It boasts of a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12 megapixel primary lens and a 23 megapixel secondary lens. Under the hood, there is a 3200mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0+ fast charging technology. It is also water and dust resistant but has not received any certification.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note8

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was a disaster. However, Samsung is adamant to launch the Galaxy Note8 in 2017. Hopefully, it will not have any issue and will also be Samsung’s first 8GB RAM smartphone. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to rock a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, which will be powered by Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 processor depending on the region. It is expected to feature a dual camera setup at the back. We can expect a 3300mAh battery under its hood and hopefully it will not blast.

5. LeEco Le Max 2 Pro

LeEco Le Max 2 Pro, one of the most anticipated 8GB RAM phones from China, is expected to be launched in 2017. The Le Max 2 Pro will be the first smartphone from the house of LeEco to boast 8GB RAM. Other features will include a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, EUI 6.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Like other LeEco phones, it will also not come with a 3.5mm audio jack. Under the hood, we can expect a 4500mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support to power the phone.

6. HTC U12

HTC U12, one of the upcoming smartphones of 2018, is also expected to be one of the best 8GB RAM smartphones. The HTC U12’s top variant is expected to be loaded with 8GB RAM, which is very rare at the moment but we can expect a lot in 2018. Other features of this phone would be a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ dual curved edge display, Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor, HTC Sense 10.0 UI based on Android O and more. It is expected to be water and dust resistant.

7. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, successor of one of the best bezel-less in the world, is expected to rock 8GB RAM under its hood. Of course it won’t be marketed as one of the best 8GB RAM smartphones but its 93% screen-to-body ratio will be its selling point. It will be featuring a 6.4-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with curved edges and will be a truly bezel-less phone with an edge-less display. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and run on MIUI 9.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It is also expected to adopt the dual lens system at the back.
